The Brunei Hotel: Choices Restaurant
Written by Delwin Keasberry Thursday, 21 July 2011 00:00
Generally speaking, we are creatures of habit, going back to that which is familiar to us. So what moves us to try out different things? These may include a different fragrance, a new mobile application, a start-up supplier, "the competition", a rebranded restaurant. Look around you at this very moment. Most likely you will have a number of logos staring back at you. For me, I see a Dell flatscreen monitor, a moleskine black book, an Epson printer, a Casio G-Shock, speakers by Logitech, a mouse by Acer, a smartphone by HTC. What led me to connect with these brands? What led you to the brands you use? Do newspaper, radio and television advertisements move you? Messages or comments from your social networks? Endorsements by a celebrity? Or maybe you "just wanted to try something different".
So here I am, writing about The Brunei Hotel's Choices Restaurant. Of course, the intention is that the next few moments of your time and my time will motivate you enough to make a visit to Choices...either for the first time or for a revisit. Like any good write-up, photographs have been included.

I have watched enough reality cooking programmes to know that restaurants should be measured according to at least three deliverables: taste, service and atmosphere. Taste includes freshness of produce, textures, presentation of food, subtleties in taste, etc. Service includes staff politeness, knowledge, waiting time, mannerisms, etc. Atmosphere includes lighting, music, room temperature, table layout, etc. Of course the list of measurables goes on...but then there are the subjective elements. How do you feel when you are there? Does the place make you feel more confident of yourself? These feelings of course vary based on preferences.
Me? I often have business meetings there. I often order their Burgers. I like the energy from the lunch time crowds.
I like this place.
Do check out The Brunei Hotel's Choices Restaurant and decide for yourself. I would love to read your comments and thoughts.
