Editor's Note: Lately I have been getting to know more and more local photographers, and from what I hear and observe, photography in Brunei is alive and kicking. More than this, local photographers are only getting better and more daring in their craft. Speaking of which, allow me to introduce you to Aiman Besar. Aiman is a freelance local photographer (also a part-time swimming instructor) here in Brunei and he describes himself as a "dreamer" and "easy going". Snapping the most memorable moments in various creative ways; wedding photography and portrait photography.

My way to express my feelings through an image.
What was your first camera and what do you use now?
First camera was the Canon 400D. Currently I am using a Canon 50D. Better quality :)
Who was your inspiration to start photography?
My brother; he was the one who introduced me to this photography and who bought me my first DSLR camera. Also, not forgetting Lisa Dragon. She introduced me to the Brunei Forever Forum where local photographers share their work and skills.





Name some artists who inspire your work.
Aaron Nace, Kuku Besi and Kudegraphy. I came across their photographs and just knew that was the kind of photography I wanted to do.
What has been the highlight of 2011?
Being one of the official photographers for International Wedding Showcase, alongside Adam Raasalhague.
Any big plans for 2012?
No big plans but there will be more events and projects to do.
